April is not half over. April is not half over. There’s no place like home…
- Clonezilla - has some useful tricks; into the toolbox.
- Vanishing bee mystery - could we maybe do this to mosquitoes instead? Because that would be much cooler.
- Embrace the Suck - domain-specific jargon is the r0xx0r.
- The May Day Mystery - this always used to be good for about a half-day of head-scratching, back in my U.Arizona days
- Turf it to the minions!
- Tips on ripping vinyl. Currently reripping all the CDs to FLAC, with obsessive scanning of CD inserts and trayliners. Once that’s done, it’s time for the vinyl — although I’m going to need to buy a bigger scanner if I want the dust cover art from the LPs…
- Drive or Metro to Black Cat? I ask, MeFites deliver. Metro completely worked; I walked from Dupont and aside from the slightly crap weather, it was all good. Show rocked too.
- The Linus Torvalds Bus Factor - “bus factor”, heh.
- frontierkernel.org - getting Frontier running again would be cool. Every CMS thing since then feels like a step in the wrong direction.
- YA blogs-is-cool story. How 2002.
- Blogging Code o’ Conduct pushback: funny, serious. Good to see that many people still haven’t learned the essential lessons of Usenet.
- Tin-foil hat time: High-traffic Colluding Tor Routers in Washington, D.C. Confirmed.
- Abstinence study results. Science once again foils BushCo. Damn science, anyway.
- Tunneling iTunes shares over SSH. Port 3689, for future reference
- Sweatshop-free Chuck-a-likes. Current pair isn’t quite holey enough for replacement…
- Translation From PR-Speak to English of Selected Portions of Rails Developer David Heinemeier Hansson’s Response to Alex Payne’s Interview. I could do this with approximately 75% of the non-automated email correspondence I see, but it would probably only be funny for the first two or three weeks…

For some reason people still think Black Cat is no longer near a metro when .36 miles of walking on increasingly cleaned up and gentrified U Street is no big deal at all. Another place people used to tell me you couldn’t walk to was Adams Morgan. I would call places there and ask how to get there from the Metro and they would say “you can’t.” Now every kid in their 20s knows how to walk from Woodley Park across the bridge.
